Radon testing is not a required part of the Standards of Practice of the two national home inspector associations and the State of Florida. Many Florida home inspectors offer radon testing as an additional service, but they must be licensed by Florida Department of Health to do it, and follow the department's guidelines for testing. 

    The minimum time for the test is two days and results of all tests must be submitted to Department of Health, which they use to create a database by zip code of the likelihood of a high radon reading for each area of the state.
