How do I determine the age of a Westinghouse electrical panel?
Saturday, December 4, 2021
The third number of the serial number stamped on the data sticker of a Westinghouse electrical panel is the single-digit year of manufacture, and the first two numbers are the week. Because the decade is not provided, it must be figured out from other observations. See our article How do I determine the age of an electrical panel? for ways to find clues for the approximate age.
This panel was in a mobile home built in February of 1990, and that’s how we determined that it was 1989. Because production of Westinghouse panels was discontinued in 1995, the manufacture date must be earlier than that.
Not all Westinghouse panels will have this number stamp. Some have a letter sequence that we have been unable to decipher.
