How can I tell the age of a MrCool heat pump or air conditioner from the serial number?
Tuesday, May 19, 2020
The MrCool serial number is 21-digits, and the number at the 12th digit is the year of manufacture. Here’s and example: 3407657520193280120410. Because MrCool is a newer brand, a 9 would only mean 2019 for now; but it may need further investigation in years to come—based on conditon of unit and the year of any code standard listed on the data plate—to determine which decade.
To determine the size of a MrCool system in tons, see our blog post What size in tons is my MrCool heat pump air conditioner? For the age of another brand or manufacturer, go to our blog post How do I determine the age of my air conditioner?
And to figure out what all the other numbers listed on the condenser data plate mean, go to our blog post How do I understand the air conditioner or heat pump condenser label (data plate)?
