What is the average life expectancy of an attic fan?

You can expect an attic fan to last about 5 to 15 years. But many seem to fail closer to the short end of that range, possibly due to the outdoor weather exposure, plus extreme heat in Florida attics in the summer. The two most common defects we find with attic fans are open wire splices and abandoned units with wiring disconnected long ago, as shown below.
