The “Top 10” Florida counties with the highest incidence of sinkhole activity are Pasco, Hernando, Hillsborough, Marion, Pinellas, Citrus, Polk, Orange, Seminole, and Lake counties. Hernado, Pasco, and Hillborough alone account for two-thirds of all the sinkhole damage insurance claims statewide, and the three-county area is known as “Sinkhole Alley.”
